Planning a stag weekend in Sheffield

Sheffield may not be everyone’s first choice of stag location, but the ‘Steel City’ has much more to offer than perhaps meets the eye. With acres of lively clubs, top quality strip clubs and a whole host of the lad’s favourite daytime activities, there is nowhere better to spend a stag weekend than the North!
For the daytime

If you’re making a weekend of it, it makes sense to plan something fun for the daytime as well as the evening’s debauchery, otherwise the risk of drinking too early and having to call it a night too soon will run high. Luckily there is plenty to do in and around Sheffield to get some great bonding time with the lads:

Dirty days: Sheffield offers a wealth of opportunities for petrol heads to get a good muddy fix. With a number of off road centres near the city or in the neighbouring Peak District National Park, you can go 4x4 exploring or try out a rage buggy experience which apparently is rather popular with the boys.

Ballistic brothers: Experience the adventure with one of the local paintballing companies. Some offer more than just a wooded area to sneak around and blast your mates, with some boasting readymade fortresses, mazes and Amazonian simulations to get your testosterone pumping.

Golfing: For a quieter, more refined start to the day, how about a quick 18 around one of the UK’s best courses? Whether you’re a novice or a semi pro, the courses around the city offer something to suit every ability, and they’ll even provide lunch too!

For the evening

When the lights go down, the city of Sheffield really springs to life. With a good student body providing a lively background pretty much every night of the week, as well as the devoted citizens of the city who are ready to party hard, the options for an evening’s entertainment are limitless.

Friendly locals: Sheffield boasts a number of excellent strip clubs, including the world famous Spearmint Rhino which you’ll find on Brown Street just a stone’s throw from the University. Warm welcomes and beautiful dancers are a given, with private dances available for the lucky stag himself.

High rolling: Whether you fancy a pre club flutter or a post party wind down, the 24 hour casino scene in Sheffield is definitely not lacking. Among the most popular is the swanky Grosvenor ( on Duchess Street which offers fine entertainment and good food 24 hours a day.

Club-tastic: You can find all manner of exciting boozeries along West Street, linking the University and the City Centre. From traditional pubs to sleek, modern clubs and student party houses, there’s really something for everyone’s taste here. From West Street, the main nightclubs are along Wellington Street and Leadmill Road, with a few classy joints on Charles Street too
