The Common Room at The University of Sheffield have unveiled details about
their first ever one day music festival on 24 April. In conjunction with
Thornbridge brewery the festival will showcase the best in live music from
Northern artists and a wide selection of award winning ales.
Headliners at the festival includes world class blues diva Kyla Brox who is
currently touring Europe.
Local rock and roll outfit "The Beat Merchants",featuring Sheffield music
legends "Gerry Scanlan- founder of Bitter Suite" and long-time fixture in
Dave Berry's Cruisers "John Firminger",will bring the curtain down on the
festival.
In total the festival features over seven artists and the live music in the
afternoon features New Orleans Boogie from Dale Storr and swing classics from
The University Music Players Society Big Band.
This really is a festival that has something for everyone and a rare
appearance in Yorkshire for one of the leading Gypsy Jazz outfits in the UK
led by Samuel C Lees will appeal to local fans of Django Reinhardt.
If you book in advance ticket holders will get a free festival glass and a
free beer tasting.
The event starts at 3pm and will finish at around 11.30pm and the venue is
