TOP COMEDY IN THE RAYNOR LOUNGE EVERY SUNDAY
If you’re game for a laugh then this is the place for you! Organised by Toby Foster, of Phoenix Nights Toby Foster and BBC Radio Sheffield fame, they sell out the Roundhouse and the Lescar on a more than regular basis and have put on the likes of Peter Kay, Jack Dee, Jimmy Carr and Al Murray to name but a few. Check the line ups each week, there is always something pretty special from Perrier award contenders, top TV writers or even Toby himself.
Small but perfectly formed the Raynor Lounge is described by the comics as perfect for comedy, after numerous sell out events with queues going through Bar One it’s sure to be crazy again this term. Tickets can be bought early from Box Office to ensure you’re there, we have over 100 seats but they all go quickly, unless you want to be stood up, or maybe worse… sat in front of the acts at their ruthless comedy mercy, get there early and grab one of the best tables for a true comedy club experience but in your very own reasonably priced students union.
With 4 pint jugs of Carling and Worthington’s only £5, bottles of house wine for £5.95 and Smirnoff and mixer £1.55 the booze will flow almost as easily as the laughs, the perfect way to cure that hangover or to pretend Monday morning is just that little bit further away. If laughter really is the best medicine, we’ll be putting the University Health Service out of business!
